Connecting cultures. Building community.

walk in my shoes harmony kit

The Walk in My Shoes kit consists of a CD, video and a kit guide with lessons and activities on issues of racism and harmony, all of which are resources to be used in workshops to be implemented in high schools. The Walk in My Shoes kit is aimed at making young people think and talk about issues of racism, harmony, understanding, empathy and awareness of different cultures.

The Australian Government through a Living in Harmony Grant funded the Walk in My Shoes Project.

The project was coordinated by the SydWest MSI, along with project partners: Doonside Technology High, Evans Intensive English Centre, Nagle College, Terra Sancta, Blacktown City Council and Blacktown Youth Services Association. Workshops were implemented in drama, contemporary music and video making and the resulting final production materials were used as a part of the Walk in My Shoes kit.

The kit has been trialled at local high schools and received positive feedback from both schools and teachers. For more information contact SydWest Multicultural Services Inc. on 9621 6633.
