SydWest Multicultural Services Inc is a non-profit community association which provides practical assistance and services for the relief of poverty, distress and misfortune to disadvantaged and marginalized people in the Western Sydney area. SydWest Multicultural services will work to empower people irrespective of their ethnic, cultural or religious backgrounds to equally participate in Australian Society.

What services are provided?
HACC services provided by SydWest Multicultural Services Inc include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming,toileting and mobility
  • Respite Care: Designed to provide relief for primary carers of frail elderly people or young people with disabilities
  • Counselling: Information, support and Advocacy Assistance with understanding and managing situations, behaviours and relationships associated with the person's need for care and/or the caring role
  • Social Support: Aims to reduce social isolation and promote increased community participation of frail older persons or persons with a disability 18 years or older, by engaging them with CALD specific or mainstream social activities. The support is provided through a range of activities including group meetings and social outings.
  • Case Management for People of CALD backgrounds: The program provides a flexible package of community care for the HACC target group and their carers with complex care needs. Anyone can refer by contacting the HACC Case Manager on 8825 3777. The program provides comprehensive assessment, individual care planning and management, information, referral to services, monitoring, and brokerage funds to provide services for assessed needs. Fees for service apply.

Who can use this service?
The HACC Program is designed to cater for people who are::

  • Frail aged or over 18 years of age with a disability who are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background
  • Carers of frail aged people or people with a disability from a culturally and linguistically diverse background
  • Living at home in the Blacktown,Parramatta,Holroyd, Baulkham Hills or Auburn Local Government Areas

How much does it cost?
A small fee is charged for some of the services provided. The amount is determined in consultation with the client and/or carer and the HACC services Manager.

Are workers qualified to provide services that meet the needs of clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds?
Yes. We have a pool of qualified care workers who are:

  • Trained in providing professional compassionate care
  • Nationally approved trained to work with clients with dementia and/or disabilities
  • Either bilingual or multilingual
